Hi all, I'm new on this forum. I'm a science journalist researching a story on cochlear implants. I'm looking for people who were born profoundly deaf and are/were Deaf with a capital D AND who got cochlear implants as adults. Do any of you out there fit the bill and would you be willing to tell me your story?
 
I don't have a cochlear implant, the scare the s**t out I me. I've heard too many "fail" stories to even consider one. Maybe when the risk isn't as great...
 
Maybe this thread would do better under hearing aids/cochlear implants?
