I also attended college after finishing high school --

1991 - ECC College in Los Angeles (can't remember exact name, only stayed there a week before I moved back north)

I also noticed a few of you had attended an Easter Seals provided school, wasn't it? My mother works as an Interpreter Coodinator for Easter Seals Society in Rohnert Park, CA. :D (She's been there for 17 + years.)

I think the equalivant would be Headstart today. I am against dhh kids attending general disabilty preschools since it's rare that all the resources a dhh kid needs (like a speech therapist who is experianced in working with dhh kids, and someone who is fluent in Sign etc) are readily available in those types of settings.

1969 to 1974 Portley House School for the Deaf, Surrey, England
1974 to 1979 Nutfield Priory Secondary School for the deaf, Redhill Surrey UK
1979 to 1980 Derby College/Burton Upon Trent TAFE, Derbyshire, England
2004 Preston TAFE, Australia

All three schools mention above in England have close down because there are not enough deaf people in attendance!! :ugh2:

IHR - between 14 months old to about 4 -5 years old, then went to Tigard Elem. School, Sunnyside School, I cant remember what else. until about 4th grade, I went to Oregon School for the deaf. then quit end of freshman year, went to Century High School for nearly 2 years, last 2 months of JR year, I was forced to make decisions. 3 choices, actually.. be a drop out, go to ceveland high school or go back to OSD. cuz I was going thru hard time. due to family. living on my own, moving around between friend's houses, partying all the time, drugs & alcohol. after 4th attempt to get me in IEP meeting, that day actually opened my eyes, on the path I was going down.. they gave me 3 choices, so I choose to go back to OSD. Even tho, I hated OSD. it always felt like a prison school to me. But I knew, if I go there, they wouldnt let me get away with anything. and I'd be forced to go to school every days.. and I wanted to get back on right track, finish school... so I did. I graduated from OSD in 2001. now currently working on going to Portland Community College in the fall. that is if my plans goes thru (VR).
