MRO Finds Huge Underground Glaciers on Mars | Universe Today

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's radar found glaciers buried on Mars at 35-60 degrees latitude in both hemispheres. The rocks covering them keep them from disappearing into the atmosphere. We could try using them to get water for people we send to Mars. :D

Mars Atmospheric "Bubbles" Carried Away by the Solar Wind | Universe Today

Here is a possible way Mars may have lost its air: Mars has local magnetic fields instead of global ones, which were discovered by the Mars Global Surveyor. They figured out that those local fields could connect to the magnetic field of the solar wind and form pockets that trap ionized air, which gets carried away in bubbles off of the planet.
