AllDeaf is busy today! Looks like I'm not the only new person introducing themselves. I'm Desiree, an ASL interpreter in Southern California. I've been working in the industry for 4 years. I interpret at a community college and have passed the written portion of the RID certification test (next up perf/interview!!!).
I fell in love with sign language in college while earning my AA degree and continued taking sign classes until I finished the entire interpreting training program. Since then I have been working and meeting amazing new people. Looking forward to meeting many more here!
If anyone is reading this, I am especially interested in any threads/posts regarding help/resources/suggestions for preparing for the RID perf test AND any opportunities in Kauai (as my husband's work might be reassigning us to Hawaii within the next year).
Hugs & Bugs,
Desiree!!!
