I'm getting a new aid, and I found out I lost even more hearing. How?

my right ear is my better ear and the one I use to wear an aid, since it kinda hurts to wear one in my left ear.

Well, 2 years ago, I broke my hearing-aid, so now I went without an aid and just recently got a hearing test.

They said that my right ear's hearing is gone. And that I'd have to use an aid in my left ear.

How? How did I lose my hearing in my right ear? Does anyone know how that could happen?

I don't have a condition in where my hearing would get worse, it's just damaged. This is strange.

Maybe you should get further medical tests. If you don't have progressive hearing loss, you should find out what happened.

It could be caused by lots of things.

Genetic testing would determine whether you have a progressive loss or not. But there is also the belief that if you don't use it, you lose it. That's why now people are encouraged to get aids as early as possible. By I might have another test done by someone else before I jump to any conclusions.
