I received a notice from my phonetics professor that I am in danger of failing the class (required for a speech pathology/audiology major) and I should talk to the department chair about continuing to go on with the major. Last night, I went to my advisor and she told me that this course is required for graduate school for speech pathology and audiology. There is no way to go around this course. I really want to become a HOH audiolologist.
Phonetics is a class where you learn to transcribe into the International Phonetic Alphabet. You need to hear the difference between phonomes.
P.S. I dropped the class.
