How many of you on disability income, or some form of SSI/SSDI/etc?

Your wrong, and I am not going to repeat because history is bound to repeat, just watch and be prepared to drop your jaw when your gonna retire.

Reason?

Eventually there will be more people on retirement roll than these who is on pay roll, that is where the problem is.

If my memory serves me right, in 1960 12 employees support each retirees on SS benefits, very soon there will be only 3 or 4 employees supporting each retirees on SS benefits. What does that tells you? Its evidently that the money is going run out anytime soon. UNLESS these young generations decided to have fun in bed and produce more babies, perhaps at rate of 3x of whats going rate at this time then we will be fine but other than that, we are doomed eventually. Its all about mathematical equality.

That train left the station years ago. 49.1% of Americans are on some sort of assistance ALREADY. I'd say enjoy it while it lasts because it's going to run out. No doubt.

Half of Americans in households receiving government aid - World Socialist Web Site

49.1% is really really bad for economy equity, to be safe, should no more than 30%. If that is the going rate, other half is working Americans, I don't see how they can support other guy on entitlement.

The only way I can see that would work is raise taxes on wealthy.

Why? What entitles you to more of their money? Because they EARNED more of it?

You know what? Don't answer that. I'm going to pass on debating this one. Not really in the mood as I have some strong thoughts on the matter.

No, you don't get it. Its mathematics equity issues here, If you have income of say $1,000 a month and you have budget spending of $1,500, will that be no problem? No, it is headed into disaster in the end. Right now, less working people are actually paying MORE retirees.

What you are thinking is that government has money tree, dream on! There is no such thing as money tree, sorry to break the truth.

Wont work -England already tried that. For one-the wealthy only incorporate 1% of the US population, two-the wealthy can easily find work arounds to tax laws as most of the wealthy in England have.

I'm on SSI and SS.The SS is from my mom's death. I've been on SSI and SS since I was a child, also Medicaid. I've also been on Medicare since I was 20. I'm 32 now. I'm physically disabled, I was born with severe hip dysplasia and had 4 surgeries on my left hip. I can't run or climb stairs anymore.

The SAID program, designed in collaboration with members of the disability community, provides an income for persons with significant and long-term disabilities separate from the Saskatchewan Assistance Program (SAP).
Beginning June 2012, SAID will be expanded to include people who are living independently. Individuals currently receiving a disability benefit through the Saskatchewan Assistance Program (SAP) are being invited to apply for SAID. Application packages that include a disability impact assessment are being mailed through the month of March. Completed applications will be reviewed to determine whether the applicant is eligible for SAID.
