Hospital question for you... looking for answer!

Ok, recently I have moved to NC with my boyfriend. My closest family is in NY. If I make him medical proxy, would a hospital still not let him in there for decisions? I know many times in places, gay couples were separated by hospitals because they are not legally married. I just want to be safe to have him my proxy, because I do crazy things! (thrill-seeker)

you will need to fill out legal form to declare the medical proxy
