Hello all. I live in Boca Raton, FL. I am completely deaf in 1 ear, but can hear in the other. I lost my hearing in the deaf ear after a car accident. I have been extremely interested in learning asl and am told the best way to do so, other than classes, is to get involved in your local deaf community. So that is my main purpose of registering here as well as chat with deaf people. Are there any other deaf or hard of hearing people in my area, or know of anywhere i can physically get involved in the deaf community/culture? Another thing i want to do is become a registered yoga trainer and learn how to teach yoga to the deaf/hoh

:wave:hello Jeff. I was stationed in Florida for awhile I loved it down there.
 
i was born & raised here. live 3 miles from the Atlantic Ocean & dont take it for granted. I have a good friend who lives in Wauwatosa, WI and i have been there 3 times. i love WI & midwestern people

Florida is a nice place to live. I enjoyed my years in Pensacola and Key West.
 
You should also look at lifeprint.com the teacher Bill is amazing. Easy to follow free class sessions.
