Hey smokers! This is what your friends won't tell you. - That's Fit

To start with.....you stink! Most folks I randomly interviewed today decided they'd rather sit next to someone who stepped in dog doo, than someone who was smoking a cigarette. Isn't that telling? Even if you recently smoked, but already put your cigarette out, you still stink. Gross. I imagine you didn't think it was that bad did you? You were wrong.

Second. It makes you unattractive. No amount of hair styling, fancy dressing, or scrub-a-dubbing can help when you have one of those nasty sticks hanging out of your mouth. Smoking also makes your teeth yellow and skin wrinkly. Mmmmm. That's pretty. If you smoke, just forget bathing or dressing well at all; with a cigarette in your mouth you'll always look bad.

Third. Pregnant women and parents all cringe when they cross your path. They fear your choice will kill their beautiful babies someday and they wish they could zap you away.

Fourth. Your house and car smell too. Nobody likes to sit in the passenger seat of a smokers car. It's vile and suffocating. Even if you hang that death stick out the window as you cruise, it still seeps in and your friends and family probably hate having to ride in your cancer-mobile.

Fifth. There's a slight chance you won't die from lung cancer, but the odds are you'll kill the people closest to you. The ones who've begged you to stop throughout the years. They'll endure lengthy chemotherapy treatments, lose their hair, and experience unimaginable pain. They'll probably never rub it in your face though.

Sixth. At your funeral, once the cigarettes have completely poisoned your body your loved ones may not mourn you. They'll resent you for taking your life so nonchalantly. They'll be pissed for all the days with you you've stolen from them.

Last. There is reasonable help out there and you owe it to them to find a way to stop smoking. It's a selfish habit that serves no one any good at all. New pharmaceuticals and old patches have worked for millions of those willing to make the change. You owe it to those around you to try each and every option until one takes.

I assume many of you readers think I'm a saint, and many of you think I'm a major a**hole. I don't care, cause my job as little Miss Fitzness trainer is to tell you the truth and change your life for the better. Smoking has zero redeeming qualities and the sooner you stop the better. Choose vanity, guilt, health or fear; I don't care. Just pick one great reason to pursue a smoke free life and go with it. Lung cancer is the number one killer of both men and women. I copied and pasted it and sent it to my husband. He needs to quit smoking..I hate it but he switched to Cloves so I wont have to suffer thru the stinky smell from regular cigaretts. I like the smell of Cloves so at least he is thinking of me. He tried to quit so many times...wow, I guess it is hard. Thank goodness I never started smoking. Whew!

Have you looked into laser therapy?

A friend of mine had a treatment of laser therapy. It was around 3 or 4 years ago, she hasn't smoked since that day.

I agreed with you, girl!

I'm glad that I didn't touch a cigaretts in almost four years ;)

Er...would you so kindly explain how this works? I'm quite sure you are not speaking of eye surgery... ;)

WTG LUCIA!!! glad you made this thread!!! :thumb:  and also please don't forget it also affects people like myself because i get "asthma attacks" from smokers/smoked rooms!!! :ugh:

Ok I will ask him about it. He is smoking his Cloves as I type. :ugh3:

Nonsmokers never told smokers those? Almost all of nonsmokers I've known told me every one of the list you showed. I think maybe you should count the alcohol too. They make people behavior goes crazy, higher crimes, accidents, assaults, deaths, immaturity, etc. compare that to cheapy cigarettes cause the world as smelly, problem with breathing, SMALL accidents, little cute underage smoking criminals, etc.

I am speaking from experience alcohol related accident against on my current car and motorcycle when I was only 4, I almost lost my finger that time (my finger is STILL a ugly finger, including other 6 scars on my body from the accident). My car now have a VERY ugly rear side without a bumper. Both of those are drunkard's fault.

Smokers don't cause that kind of stuff. Even I sometimes drink wine, I admit. I guess "Freedom" is a fairy tale, not a reality.

Whew! That's a long list of ingredients! I too am a former smoker. I quit 10 yrs ago this month. :) I do feel cleaner and breathe better.

Have you looked into laser therapy?

A friend of mine had a treatment of laser therapy. It was around 3 or 4 years ago, she hasn't smoked since that day.

Exactly what do they laser?

Well, from what I could recall... they use the laser on your fingers and hands. I think they use it on your throat and neck too as well, but I'm not sure.

Oops! Found the answer! But I still don't understand. Addiction (and nicotine is an addiction, not a habit) is centered in the brain.

I'm not a smoker, I don't know much about it except that my friend got a free treatment since her fiancée's mother run a clinic. So far, it did wonders for her.

I'm not saying it is the real deal. I'm just saying that she should look into it.

I'm not a smoker, I don't know much about it except that my friend got a free treatment since her fiancée's mother run a clinic. So far, it did wonders for her.

I'm not saying it is the real deal. I'm just saying that she should look into it.
Is it a place that's all over the United States or just that area. Some places are one-thing only, while others are all over.

Also, is it one of those rare free-thing places as well?

For instance, there's only one place in Rochester that does free AIDS/HIV test... other places charge a pretty big fee.

Whew!

Cloves are harder on your lungs :S
