I'm new to the forums and haven't been able to find a recent post addressing my problem, so apologies if this has already been addressed.
I recently purchased a new HDTV and my cable TV box - with its HDMI connection to the TV - provides the captions for any shows or movies coming in via the cable company. Ok, no problem here.
I do not have nor plan to have any streaming services such as Netflix, so again no problem here.
What is the problem is that my older DVD player has a composite connection and the new TV will not caption anything is AV mode (i.e., the composite). I've read that some of the newer, non-bluray players now have CC decoding - note that I'm not talking about the subtitles, I specifically mean the captions.
Does anyone know of a DVD player with such capabilities? Or is there any other way to get the DVD captioning to show up on a HDTV?
Thanks in advance!
