Hi! I am hearing, working as a Deafblind Intervenor with students who are Deafblind, and often have additional issues, such as Down Syndrome...so I use sign language, but not always ASL, depending on the physical and intellectual abilities of my student.
I think ASL is a beautiful language, and am constantly working to improve my skills, which is difficult sometimes as I live in a very small town...my expressive signing is better than my receptive, as I don't know anyone here who signs fluently and I am usually the one doing most of the signing.
