Besides grabbing a friend and fingerspelling words at each other, what's a good way to practice reading fingerspelling?
I'm doing the exercises on Dr. Bill Vicars' American Sign Language (ASL) Fingerspelling Practice Site
At this point, I can get it in 1-2 repeats on fast speed, and 3-5 on Deaf speed. I'm debating whether to push myself to get it in 1 play with fast before going onto deaf speed, doing deaf speed in as few passes as I can, or just experimenting with all of it.
I also wonder how much all of this actually helps me learn, considering that these are still photos and real fingerspelling involves moving hands and stuff.
