Examples of 'ideal' educational and language environments for deaf children

calling for placement/home language that worked

This is a bit of an aging thread, but wondering if anyone who has joined since might be willing to share an academic placement and language combination you grew up in that you would consider ideal ... or even just really good -- from your own perspective?

I'm looking for any examples of a combination that you think worked for you (e.g., language at home = English (using HAs) + oral deaf school until age 8, transition to mainstream until graduation or home lang. = ASL (no HAs) + bi-bi placement right up until to graduation or anything in between).
