Do you think she is autism?

Soutthpaw, thanks for reply on my post, wow..Yes she still take all shoes off anywhere till I finally bought new shoes print flowers and butterfly on her pink shoes without laces last week and she is very addicted to them, wear it often. But she like to wear opposite shoes in wrong feet.. She would scream if I tried to switch shoes to right feet. And she loves small shoes that is tight..She's size toddler 8-9, but wear size 5 that she found it in the box and wanted to wear it everyday to play outside in the backyard. I hided it from her and she asked for that shoes, I told her it's gone sorry it's too small for her. She got meltdowns, keep looking for it. Now she moved on because she got new flower shoes.

She still gets up at 2-3am in middle of night, I have no idea why. I forced her to go back to sleep. You said hugs her tight, she only likes to hugs us people all the times only when she's in mood, but won't let us go to hugs her..She would push us off..and scream, hit us..

I am waiting to hear from 2nd option to see if she's real autism, but her autism specialist said she is mild autism, but she isn't a doctor. I still believes that she is a mild autism for sure. But my partner was the one who think she is autism before, and now he starting to doubt that my daughter is a autism, he think it's from not enough discipline.. When I told him that he gotta to be patience and take easy on daughter, let daughter feel comfortable whatever she want to do..He said don't use excuse about her behavioral..when I told him that daughter can't help it. I did actually tried so hard to discipline her, and nothing works. Why is my son being so good behavior and easy, and completely different from daughter? So I knew its not my fault to have my daughter to behavior like that. And also, he think my daughter's behavior is came from her dad's terrible personality. I don't believe it because she doesn't see her dad much, maybe two times a year now.

I just can't wait for 2nd option from doctor at children hospital for autistic, something like that. I don't use hearing aids, I am fully deaf, so is my daughter too, she only uses hearing aids at school because I can't keep her wear her hearing aids, it was very hard, and she would take all hearing aids apart if I am not around.

How can I post pic of her?

How can I post picture of her? It said I have to type in http://..I want to post pic of her, from my computer.

Your partner is definitely wrong about the cause of her behavior and she could have lots of autistic characteristics with out a full diagosis..

NeuroTypical folks trying to tell you what is best for your daughter and what is best way to deal with it is the same as asking hearing parents asking hearing people and medical personnel what is the best way to raise a Deaf Child. Should be raised Audist or ASL etc. Mainstream vs Residential school and so on... you will do well the spend some time reading on wrong planet and ASAN etc.. get advice from adults with ASD... you already know how to deal with growing up Deaf. so you Daughter is lucky there. I know of a few other members here that have Autism and are Deaf so hopefully they will be around to help you also

Temple Grandin is a hearing autistic woman who wrote a pretty good book about life with autism. Professionally she designs slaughterhouses, and has such an intuitive understanding of animal psychology that she has designed 25-33% of all slaughterhouses in the US. While most of the major ASD symptoms have already been mentioned here, it's definitely worth the read. While I thought I might be Slightly Aspie before, the book made me consider the possibility that I have more than a couple toes on the Spectrum. Perhaps a foot and a half ; )

Book is called Thinking in Pictures

On the other hand, testing for other things might provide treatment, and thus a better quality of life for her......Much as we might want to be all warm and fuzzy and pro nereodiversity, it is a fact that the better social skills you have, the better off you'll be in life. (and getting a job etc) Before I'm attacked, it always seems like you hear autistic people going on and on about nereodiversity, but then in their NEXT breath they bitch and moan about having no friends and how they have gotten into trouble, b/c they think that someone is a friend, when they aren't, or they become overly obessed with a friend. (and that creates issues too) I know of countless people with HFA/Asperger's who got into serious trouble (stalking accustions, walking in on their RA when she was changing, following girls around, etc etc etc) b/c they mistook normal human interaction for "OMG they're my best friend ever!"
I also have a couple of friends one Aspie and one nonverbal learning disorder. Both have said that they think their life would be a lot easier (ie getting jobs and dating and stuff like that) if they didn't have their issues.
There are two Deaf Schools that have Deaf Autism programs...it's a low incidence condition. Deaf-Autism Program
and Texas School for the Deaf has quite a few Deaf special needs students with autism. Texas School for the Deaf
You may want to contact those schools and see if they have any resources, local tips and tricks etc.....

My daughter is from Williamette Education Service for the Distact (sp?) as WESD..for her deafness..So they have autism specialist too in that service. They have a great service for her..Set up a aide for her during class, and have a special routes pictures for her to follow direction what she should do in class when she arrive school, she doing really good by follow orders, put picture in the folder that she already did this and that. Like bathroom, play time, clean up etc.. She become habit of her routes in school. I need to set up that one here at my home soon.. Now they said she having eating problems, so they send someone to evaluation her this week about her eating. Oregon School for the Deaf do have autism services, they are great with autism kids..My daughter will join OSD in 2 years later. Right now she's in public school in deaf class with a aide. OSD don't have preschool..There have parents meeting once a month at WESD..

OSD has autism services? That's good! It does sound (although I'm not an expert) that if she's mild, she should get good services etc there. And b/c she's mild she should respond well to the interventions etc.
I'm surprised they don't have preschool there, since early childhood is so important ....but then again from what I see, OSD seems to be one of those schools where kids transfer to in later grades.
But it's good they have a Deaf preschool in the public school!

I would also get a second opinion. I was misdiagnosed as being autistic. I was just a frusterated, stubborn child with behavior issues.

That's a possibilty. Then again Babyblue, didn't you start out oral?
I would however get her tested for genetic stuff...it's very possible she may have something that could be treated. Like if she's not dead on autism, it might actually be something syndrome related. If it's syndrome related, then maybe it might be treatable and she could improve!
