Do you know any deafies "with authority in hiring" at
any goverment agency and private sectors ????
Who ??? Which agency ? Which private sector ? etc.....

I noticed there is a lack of enough deafies "with authority in hiring"
lately...

What do you mean by that? Are you referring to places like CIA, FBI, police, etc... that are hiring?

I mean both government agencies and private companies; the
reason why I ask this: I noticed there are NO companies and
NO government agencies NO ONE give any deafies "the power" to
hire anyone they choose. There are lots of hearing people
have the power to hire you, but there are NO deafies have
the power to hire you.

For Example: As a deaf person myself, I would like to
have the power to do the hiring so that way I could even hire you.
There are no companies and no government agencies giving me
that kind of opportunity.

I would like to see more deafies with "authority in hiring" decisions.

I would like to hear from any private companies and
from any government agencies if they are interested.
So far, NONE....

hmph there is several deafies in the city hall in San Diego... I might work there or not. I am hesistant on the fact that the boss (who is deaf) is ... hitting on me and I dont think it is right for me to work in the same place where he is if he is flirting on me off-hours. <__< MEN, :madfawk:

Hey, watch what you're saying! Boys will be boys! :fu:

Three companies I know that have deaf people in positions of "hiring power" are:

Sprint

Ultratec

and CSD (Communication Services for the Deaf)

Edit: Odd. Ultratec's web logo cuts off the 'c' at the end. And CSD doesn't have a plain CSD logo. :(

And small people self employed like me. I'm deaf and have my own self employed business and pay contractors from time to time. I'm no 800 pound gorilla, but someday I might even hire somebody full-time. My business works with designing entertainment-based onscreen user-interfaces. (Ranging from DVD menus to things like skinnable interfaces, as well as embedded software development - http://www.rejtech.com - I own that business)

Problem is I am now being offered too much work opportunities, and not enough time/budget to hire anyone to help me. Need to build up capital. Catch 22 here. I tend to need people with experience in entertainment-based user-interface programming, who's also knowledgeable about expanding a business, possibly a business partner.

There's some Postmaster who's deaf, Remember Deaf is minority!. Small world and Hearing is BIG world. You might not notice that there's some higher position deaf with power of hiring, "Human Resource Specialist" Yes, not many because we are minority!

there are some deafies that does hire and fire, they just don't adveriste thier job cuz they don't want to feel TRAPPED in feeling like thier forced to hire, very few just say yah come on and work for me, but remmy work is work outside work is freinds so they can't feel trapped there as well. theres just too much closeness in working in the same building and friends outside as well it can cause * friction* so i know some friends who work in government related postions some work in the personell department and i dont go running to them cuz we are close in friends and it just would place uncomfortablity goes to show that deaf community just doesn't want to feel like hey he didn t hire me cuz he was uncomfortable i thought he was my friend! See my point? this is one of the reasons why they don't want to Adveriste Some knows the job postions some don't they just say yah i work for this company but what postion they don't tell.....

I found a recent article in the Richmond (VA) newspaper, where a company has many deaf employees: Click this to read more. I have no idea if the company have deaf people with authority in hiring. Probably won't hurt to call the company and ask them. :)
