in my experience, it is. every time i wear a business-like suit i got the looks and smiles from women in different places. some times i got their phone numbers or email addresses without making an effort. the clerks in the stores exhibited politeness. i made a few impressions in my job interviews. wearing a suit does make a difference. for this reason i feel it made me the man. i can feel the power from the suits i wear -- no i didn't wear the tuxedo.

Yes, wearing a suit can help make a good first impression. Other than that, they have no redeeming value except that I look good in them.

I don't want to wear a suit and a tie every day. Especially in summertime.
 
Of course, men do deserve to have clothes and they do deserve to be pleasure of their own looking!
