Wow,
I've adopted cats almost all my life, and never had a plm with any of them seriously, I even remembered my first kitten, when my dad owned a store when we were young, there was a white shelter shed behind the store, I've seen many many cats and kittens going in and out of that shed, of course I wanted to keep one of those kitten but my dad said they were wild cats that hasn't been around or socialize with humans, but knowing my mom doesn't like cats cause she was allergicto them, and I thought maybe my dad was just saying this because of my mother, so I went to a food market that was next door and brought two cans of cat food, and walked in the back where the shed was at, and when I approached them while they sat or laid there, they looked very frighten and start running away from me when I got closer and closer to the shed, so I got on my knees and opened 2 cans of cat food, and place them on the ground, noticed that none of the cats had approached except only one kitten did came out, looks like the kitten had some kind of infection on the right eye, watching the kitten eating so fast like it hasn't been eating for days or weeks....
some of the cats and kittens were boney, I could see their ribs shown, it nearly broke my heart, but I knew I couldn't help them because I was too young to care for them all, I visit the shed almost everyday by given them water or milk yet some of them kept hissing at me everytime I approached the shed, until one day my dad gave me money for the help I did around the store, I brought a bag of cat food, and feed the cats/kittens, most of the cats/kittens did came around, but they would be hissing, even when I would try to pet them and I would get scared and run off after one of them tried to bite me but it didn't stop me from going back, the next morning I walked up the shed seeing one of the cat laying in the weeds next to the shed, and when I got closer to the cat, I noticed the smell and the cat was not moving or breathing at all, so I knew the cat died, I ran back to the store and told my dad about it, he told me to leave the cats alone, days went by, I kept thinking about this one kitten that has an infection on the right eye, so the next day I went back and see if I could catch that kitten, and I did, I end up bringing the kitten inside my dad's store in the back room where my dad wouldn't find out unless he goes in the back room, so I did hide the kitten for weeks without my dad finding out about it, then one day my dad noticed a strong odor coming from the backroom, my dad walked in while I was holding the kitten in my arms and petting it, my dad was not pleased at first, but I beg my dad if I could keep this one kitten, my dad noticed how much I love cats, so he said as long I take care of it and feed it and keep it away from mom and not to bring it inside the apartment which was upstairs from where the store is, I took care of the kitten everyday, feed it and given the kitten water too, I also found out it was a female after my dad checked for me, and I named her Marchmellow, I spend time with her everyday, and we became very close...until a couple of years later, Marchmellow got hit by a car and died
...Some wild cats are not as dangerous as I thought they would be, they're just scared, it takes a lot of time for them to get used to people that's all....
