Hi,

I came across a comic/manga titled Koe no Katachi or The Shape of Voice in it's English translation. It's a story about a deaf/hearing impaired girl!:- Koe no Katachi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thought it's worth sharing! I found there were a lot of moments in the book which I could relate with being profoundly hearing impaired myself.

Don't think it's purchasable in English yet though it's definitely a book i'd be interested in reading! What do others think?

I'm crazy about mangas as you can see by my username.

I only read mangas that are translated in English but I would love to read that one if it's in English in the future.

Vagabond has a deaf character in it. It's up to 33 volumes long and ongoing. I love it because the storyline and artwork is fantastic!!

thanks Deafuk.

Cool, I didn't know about Vagabond having a deaf character or those groups so I'll check those out too. Thanks.

I've read Lone Wolf and Cub. Great series!

If you like Lone Wolf and Cub, you'll also like Samurai Executioner or Lady Snowblood. I like reading about Japan ancient times.

lady snowblood was awesome. i also am a lover of Japanese history. sadly i dont have the time to really self indulge in manga as much as i used too.
soul of a samurai is cool too

I've read the manga in the OP... it seems to be a bit overly dramatic for the sake of making the story exciting, but the tale it tells is good otherwise.

I've mentioned it before but there's also Katawa Shoujo which is an English-language visual novel - one of the story branches is about a Deaf girl and her interpreter, and their interactions with the protagonist.
