OK I'M DEAF AND I'M GONNA MOVE TO TUCSON,AZ IN A FEW DAYS. CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT DEAFIE LIFE THERE?? HOW ABOUT PHOENIX?? BETTER? AND HEY IF U ARE A DEAF CHICK OR EVEN A HEARIE CHICK WITH ASL SKILLS AND WANT SOMEONE TO GO HANG OUT WITH LET ME KNOW. Had been ages since I posted something in here. I am an Arizonan - and I think it depends on how people view on Tucson and Phoenix. Phoenix is def. a mega. city with a larger deaf community there. Tucson does have a good sized deaf community, much smaller than Phoenix but Phoenix is only a couple of hours away with driving, depending on its taste... Tucson does have a deaf club as well and COPD - and the deaf school - that's how deaf people mingle from this point. U of Arizona have deaf students as well. Tucson people would say that you better keep an open mind once you decide to move to here. It is a wonderful city.

It depends on what you are looking for in Tucson.

We have deaf gathering called "Deaf Night Hangout" every third saturday of each month at Fat Tuesday's. I hear that TDPHH is being formulated and might happen this summer. (TDPHH = Tucson Deaf Professional Happy Hour)

well, i live between Phoenix and Tucson, so I dont really go to Tucson for any deaf events because I occiasonally go alots in Phoenix. If i Knew whats happening in Tucson, I would post this but since your moving here near Casa Grande, good luck in Tucson. Hang it in there!! lml/
