What We Struggle With Everyday About Our Health-- Pam Groth explains about every Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals have different levels of language, perception, and comprehension. She discusses that there are not many Deaf-friendly, Deaf-accessible websites /blogs for people to understand the material easily with Closed-Captions/Subtitles or in American Sign Language. She points out facts that sign language interpreters are often assumed by medical professionals that they are there to explain the material or health issues in great depth, but interpreter's role is to just translate what is being said from a health care professional to patient......that's it!
This is where D-PAH! comes in-- we can change that assumption; we can educate both hearing and deaf world to empower themselves to learn what they can do for themselves and help others to make their lives better and healthy.
