Conflict with statistic and gun issues

At most of time, I started to notice about two factions saying about guns.

Liberal/progressive (anti-gun rights): Less gun restrictive laws lead to more crime.

Conservative/libertarian (pro-gun rights): More gun restrictive laws lead to more crime.

I found statistic with interactive map and the data is from FBI.

After checked with map, some states with less gun restrictive laws have lower crime, especially Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Vermont, New Hemisphere and Maine than California and New York. On other hand, some states with less gun restrictive laws have more crime than others, especially Louisiana and Mississippi. Most of them are pretty relative with better or worse in some categories.

It looks like opinion to say less gun laws = less crime and more gun laws = more crime.

I respect both of their opinion, but can't make fact.
 
In my humble opinion, those stats are not the full picture.

You have demographics to take into account also for those districts.
