Man Escapes With Boxes Of Prophylactics
INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are looking for a man who stole several boxes of condoms from a grocery store on Indianapolis' north side, fighting with a security guard as he left.
The incident happened at the Marsh store in the 2300 block of Broad Ripple Avenue on Tuesday night.
The security guard told police that he saw a man come into the store and head straight for the condom aisle. The guard said he paid particular attention because some condoms had been stolen from the store in a previous incident.
According to a police report, the guard saw the man "take several condom boxes and place them inside his pants."
The guard said he tried to stop the man, described as black, in his mid 40s, 6 feet tall and 240 pounds, at the front of the store when the two began scuffling.
The police report indicated that the fight spilled into the parking lot and that the condom thief was able to get into his car and leave.
Police said they have recovered video of the incident, but they weren't sure how many condom boxes were taken. The security guard suffered minor injuries.
