Do you every use command prompt for any kind of coding for your PC?
 
What could you program using the command prompt? I can only think of batch files.
 
Yes I love to use Command Prompt in PC games, because of this.

Others than that I use IPconfig to change the IP from there. :)
 
Yup, usually for check the IP or other programs.

On Mac OS X, there's terminal that can use to powerful delete the unwanted apps that unable to clear from trash bin, other used for programs as well.
 
I use command prompts too mostly check the IP and other command to fix or restore XP setup ect.

On Linux (like Pacman) there is terminal which is powerful too. But careful not to type sudo rm-rf/ (this will destroy filesystem in Linux render it useless) LOL.

I use sudo rm-rf/ to remove the WMP 9 for Mac because of trash don't let me to empty this app.

WMP 9 is very unstable and slower on Intel Mac, along with IE too, it's best result on PPC only.
 
I use command prompt to check on networking status when trying to fix other people computer or set up their networks. Also use it to remove some virus that is locked and you couldn't delete or remove it via file explorer or Windows methods.

I misinterpreted your post. :) I usually use the command prompt (terminal) when toying with Linux.
 
I enjoy using Linux, especially the Ubuntu distro, because it has a lot of community support, which makes learning fun. I also prefer using open source stuff, even under Windows environment.

A lot of people have moved onto Ubuntu from Vista. So, you are far from alone. :)

Same with Mac OS X, alot of PC users are switch into Mac, I'm one of them but more rather to switch back to Mac because I used to have classic Mac OS with 68k in last 8 years ago.

Oh man, good luck with OSx86.

OSx86 is unreliable and got some issue with hardware, such as graphic card, WiFi and others, I prefer to own real Mac instead of install Mac OS X on PC.

I use the terminal all the time in Linux. In Windows, I have a special one for Mingw and may get Cygwin too. I use the regular Windows ones for program like the Antiprism programs that are piped together to generate and display polyhedra.
 
I miss using the dos prompt for everything back in the day, batch file coding, and executables..

now adays I only use it to run low level utilities on a hard drive to repair it, to format drives, and check for errors..... to run ghost imaging programs, and to check ip's and renew / troubleshoot ip addresses issues.

I miss WFW 3.11..... those were the days!
 
You can install legacy OS on virtual machine to refresh your memory of legacy OS.

I had tried to install Mac OS 9 to refresh my memory of classic Mac OS but no lucky under sheepshaver, it's very difficult to find OS 9, not 9.1 or 9.2 because sheepshaver only work with 9.0.4 or below.
