Not sure where this topic should go to begin with...

I've heard through others that there has been research been done on the cochlear hair cell. Has anyone heard of this? I haven't been able to get much information on it, please add your thoughts or any information you might know about this.

The purpose of the research is to find out how to "fix/revive" (i'm not sure which one is it) the dead hair cells, in order to restore hearing. I, for one, am excited by the prospect of this because that's the source of my hearing loss.

Thought people might want to know about it.

ps: if anyone has a medical article regarding that subject, please do share.

This would help me. Of course, I don't really care if I got it or not.

Well, I do know there's research going on into regenerating nerve cells, anywhere in the body. This applies to the cochlear hair cells too I suppose. I'd be glad if they could find a way to make people hearing again but only if they chose to be so.

Sometime back I had read in newspaper that research were being done to revive/develop cochlear hair cells. The further progress is not known in this area.I too have interest to know the development in this area. :clit:
