Two months of CI use has shown great change and progress for our 15 month old daughter. She answers to her name, knows "no", dances when she hears music, and has started trying to respond vocally by repeating sounds we say to her.

She brings us the CIs in the morning or points to them on the dresser. If they fall off of her head she tries to put them back on. She loves sound, and exploring her new sense.

As I've said before, we continue signed communication, and in many ways, the CIs have bolstered this.

What a lovely, happy update -- so glad she's enjoying exploring sound!

that's really awesome! Hope your daughter continues to do well :)

Hey Iowaboy, are you satisfied with the services she's been getting?
Like is she getting OK speech therapy...and do you guys have access to a Sign mentor? One big problem about being in the middle of no where is that services can be crappy all along the line. Ie not just access to Sign fluency but also speech therapists who are experianced with dhh kids.
