How about Apes? I don't think Adams and Eve are something we all come from.

Somebody had to be the first genetic human, though, or at least the first being genetically advanced enough to have our mental/spiritual capacity (which evidence suggests would be close to human, given when the first cultural artifacts show up)--that's the point I'm trying to make.
