I'm profoundly deaf. No hearing in my left ear and very little in my right ear. I have a ski slope hearing loss. Mostly I hear at 500 Hz or below. I am wearing an Oticon Chili hearing aid and my audiologist is having difficulty making adjustments to improve the muffled voices in the lower frequencies (men's voices). Sounds like they have cotton in their mouth. A truck can be outside and it sounds like it is right next to me. Does anyone know how to make adjustments so I can understand men's voices better? My audiologist tried reducing the 500 and 1000 Hz frequencies but that made it worse. I'll appreciate any help you may be able to provide. Thank you.

When I used to wear hearing aides, if I had a sound problem, I would take it to CHS, and they have a special piece of equipment that detects and adjusts the problem. Does your audiologist have that equipment? If not, that may be needed.
