My son is named after My father (who past away about 6 years ago) and my husbands father: John Edward

my both boys are named after family members...

Elias James (my oldest) , his first name Elias is named after his 5th great grandfather, James is my dad's name since he never had a son.

my youngest is Preston George....his first name is named after my grandad Preston who passed away in 97 from lung cancer,,,the name of George has been carrying its name for 15 generations in my husband's family (yes since 1600's).

I didn't want to name after one but having long debates and we wanted unique names since me and my hubby both have unique names soo we decided to look into family members name.. we both finally agreed on names... couldn't argue w that.

I wanna name my (future) son Daniel Riley from my husband's grandfather that I never met. I love that name. I still don't know about a girl's name. I thought about using my middle name but I don't really like it enough to use it.

My son's real name is after his daddy...since he is 4th and his nick name is Tyler.

As for a girl, I wanted to use my grandma's middle name but the full name sound not good idea so changed it to another name. I cannot say it since I promised to my boyfriend. :)

If I have 2nd boy, no name after family.

If we keep naming our kids after someone else in the family, we'll end up with repeat names and more confusion. Some people might take the name in a heartbroken way.

Grandma: "Dear, where's my grandson?"
Mom: "Mother, Fred's in the back yard playing."
Grandma: "Fred?" *thinking about her deceased husband named 'Fred'* "Oh dear!" *sobbing*

my 5 year old's name is Austin Patrick, but not named after anyone

my 2 year old's name is Kieran Joseph, Joseph is after my husband's brother who passed away couple years ago..

last, my 10 month old's name is Sean Richard, middle name (Richard) was named after my Grandfather (still living) I picked his name because he helped me a lot through the years while I was growing up, he made sure i had what i needed since I was deaf, and fought with those who discriminated against me because I am deaf..he and my grandmother raised me, so even though he's my grandfather i consider him as my "father" since my biological father was never around.

my son's middle name is named after my uncle joseph...

my middle name is named after my biologial father's first name

my brother's middle name is named after my grandfather

so if i'm having more kids either boy or girl i'll name them after a family member.. and i think this is honorable.

well
my grandpa first name was been used as middle name by a family member of mine my aunt's first name was used as middle name also by another member in the family my mother's middle name was used by another member also
so my family have been using naming our other members too not alone in this

When I have kids I want to name my baby (if hes a boy) after my grandpa.

My dad is named after his dad. My dad's dad is named after his dad. And my dad's dad's dad is named after his dad. OK the word dad now has lost all meaning to me. Written language makes no sense.

My First name Brent, name after my mom's brother when he passed away when he was 18 months old with high fever and ear infection. It was really weird because my name after him and I have same problems when I was 18 months old and lost my hearing during that time. My middle name William, name after my father first name. My family believe that my uncle's soul save me when I was in coma. Whoa it give me chills while I typed this forum. :)

If I am a single mother, I would name my child's middle name after my grandfather, grandmother, mother, or father. That is my opinion. Nobody will ever change my mind! If I'm married or having in a commited relationship, well.... I don't know. I don't know if the guy will accept or want a different middle names.... I don't know.

My husband's relatives believes their heritage genes name giving to child from past name which it's honourable!

My husband was told, want change tradiontal using "RDW" stick w/it.. I do truly respect as long for initial name only not full name.. No thanks...

His background strong RDW contuines from 1800's to now.. never stop.. mostly full name.. I refused carried their tradintional which felt boring name.. Would be great for us new name challenge different morden-future.

My husband given name for our last son RDW.. (R......... D.......... W..........) as same my daughter's name TDW coming from me as new generation name.. not full name as me coming from my relatives' name after..
