Are any of these books recommended for learning sign language?

...I'd just like to get an idea/overview of how it's done and wanted to know what you guys recommended? If there's a book you recommend (not listed above) let me know, I only chose the above because they were highly rated on amazon

I don't know about the first two books you listed, but I bought the Idiot's Guide several years ago..I liked it okay but I can't say that it much helped me improve. Then again, you might find that it works for you.

I'd suggest starting with this:

It's geared towards learing in a classroom setting but it's a darn fine book to start with. Just make sure the dvd is included.

Signing Naturally Books

Have you heard of the Signing Naturally books? They are what most ASL classes use nowadays and they are very good. They are what most Deaf Educators and ASL Interpreters use.
 
I think I may just pick up the Signing Naturally books...
