Thank you for your interest in working at Blockbuster. As a part of the pre-employment process, we require that a background check be performed on all applicants. Before you can begin the employment application, you will be required to (a) receive and respond to notices in electronic form and (b) consent to a background check. If you do not wish to consent to receiving and responding to notices in electronic form or a background check, please exit the system now by pressing "Exit"

Consent to Electronic Transactions

This application contains a number of disclosures and consent forms, which usually are provided in written form. I understand that I have the right to receive such disclosures and give my consent or authorization on paper instead of electronically.

If I do consent to engage in electronic transactions, I understand that I have the right to withdraw my consent, and can do so by notifying the store manager or person in charge at this location. I can also use this procedure to update information needed to contact me.

If I decide at any point during this application process to withdraw my consent to engage in electronic transactions, I understand that I will have to sign corresponding paper authorization or consent form as needed if I wish to continue with the application.

I understand that any consent given here applies only to the electronic transactions related to this job application, and that I can access the electronic records by contacting Unicru.

I further understand that I may request a paper copy of any consent or authorization I give electronically. I may receive such paper copies at no cost within the next 60 days by contacting Unicru at 1-800-338-6321 or visiting www.unicru.com for contact information.

That does really ring true! Applying to more than one employer increases the chance that one may be interested in hiring you. I've done that before when I first started looking for my 1st job at 17 way back in 1989.

You do not need to answer those questions; they are voluntary. They are for reporting (probably statistical) purposes only, not for the application process.

Anyways its interesting to note that companies are now using applications online via computers instead of the traditional paper applications.

Every time I stop at a wally world, target or any other major stores, I am beginning to notice these online employment application kisoks set up at either the entrance or at customer service booths.

Doing applications on computer is nice, but I am still a paper and pen man when it comes to applying for a job (even with my messy handwriting lol). It is because I can look for a manager, then give it to him in person after I am finished with it. Most of the time, I end up getting times appointed for major job interviews.

yeah thats what i noticed too. since I've compared both ways on computer and in person to apply jobs. but in person u ll get job interview faster than just online which is not easy to get job interview... Online - very rare people get job interview. thats my opinion from what i've seen.

I gotta answer all these stupid questions...
look at PAGES... ahhhh!!!! I wanna move to Germany.

yeah sablecort i understand how u feel ...
thats why i no longer go to these job fairs anymore
cuz at every booth they said same thing over and
over "Just look at our website http://www.xxx.xxx"
and i really miss the old times where sometimes
you could meet a person with authority in hiring
at the booth they might even hire you right
on the spot.. but NOT anymore i never see any
person with authority in hiring show up at
any job fairs anymore....
Why should I bother go to job fairs where
I know i can find their websites and enter
on-line rather than waste my time showing up
at these job fairs.
of course, i'd go and show up ONLY IF
I know that there is a person with
authority in hiring show up there... thats why
i really missed the old times
