so i've been in Tucson for almost a year now, and STILL can't find a job. i've applied to everything there is to apply to: restaurants, retail, house cleaning, office jobs, fast food, etc.
out of literally hundreds of jobs that i applied to, this is how many interviews i got: two. and obviously i didn't get the jobs, or else i wouldn't be here complaining about it.
my next stop is porn or stripping. i'm absolutely not kidding. i need money, man. i'm sick of being broke and i'm sick of not having a job.

i guess the reason i'm posting this very long complaint is because i'm curious to know if any of you are having the same problem in not being able to find a job.

so, hello, my fellow jobless friends. please identify yourselves, and tell me a little bit about your job woes.

What make you decide to move to Tucson?

Well - in our situation, we moved bnack to Florida almost 3 years ago. The move was because my MIL needed help and FIL was dying. Hubby left a good paying job where he was making $16.40 an hour. We get to Florida, it takes him 3 months, but he's hired on at the company he left in 1996 when we left Florida to begin with. He started out making $7.25 an hour and now after almost 3 years, he makes only $8.25 an hour. This is literally making it very hard on us. We have to live with his mother right now. She is giving us money and took out a loan and gave us the lot next door have a garage converted into a house for us. My mother gets her social security benefits, I get SS disability, then we have hubby's paltry paycheck. We just barely get the bills paid.

my boyfriend and daughter and i were living in Philly, and our job situation wasn't much better. i was working part-time as a waitress, and the restaurant he was working at closed. we couldn't pay our rent, and got evicted. we had an opportunity to start fresh in Tucson, living with his mom. we had no idea it would be this hard to find work in this stupid city.

our situations are similar - i'm living with my bf's mom and we're just barely getting by on her SS checks.
i'm sorry you're in that situation.

You try looking in other states? You or your bf can go elsewhere while the other stays in tuscon. Right now my wife works in a different state cuz she couldn't find a job where I am. Not the greatest situation but economically necessary now

to elaborate on my earlier quick post.

I left my job in December because I was tired of bending over for a-holes and hated the commute. I'm still looking for a job in town and just went to a job fair.
*keeping my fingers crossed*

have you tried hitting college job fairs? they take us normal/older people as well.
