My friend linked me to a video on YouTube the other day (link: youtube.com/watch?v=LbtVepS53t0) and I, like almost everyone who commented on that video, thought the poem was amazing

So I decided to share it with all you guys, you might like it...I took the liberty of uploading it myself because the original video didn't have closed captioning and I added those too.

Mod note:

Thread's moved to proper area.

I liked it for the most part, even though the man's signing is not very smooth and would be hard to understand without the captions, at least for me.

But I wasn't sure about the final poem: "I was born as deaf and as quiet as a starfish, but if I had been born a man I would pray to the lord above every night at the top of my fucking lungs just to thank him for giving me... voice."

Not sure what the guy's trying to say here, that the poet meant that he wishes he had an actual voice? Like a hearing person? And why say, "if I had been born a man?" is he not a man cause he's deaf? I dunno, I'm just confused. Kinda ambiguous.

Noticed someone in the audience giving deaf applause. Heh, that was cool.
