I use VLC Player. It plays pretty much everything I've thrown at it. The GUI may look too simple, but under the hood, it's quite powerful.

K-Lite Mega are both Web and Player

I had used before and not effective for basic users, I did set up to stream and doesn't nothing to bring up then I uninstalled it.
