A wider tax break for homebuyers is the wrong stimulus.

Extending the homebuyer tax credit is a mistake - washingtonpost.com

When this dumb tax subsidy expires, house prices will drop another $8000. I won't buy a house till prices return to pre-bubble levels.

yup, Hope you can buy good house with reasonable pricing that you can afford.

My house just got devalued recently because of recession. It's just a little drops just like anyone in my neighborhood. I wouldn't care at all. It'll go up when economic get better (It would be a long way to go).

Catty

It really depends on location, so it may be good one for some areas but bad for other areas. My hometown is just perfect, the real estate prices has been very stable up here.

Wish they would extend that stimulus few more years so I might or might not buy another house in 2 years from now. I own my house and it has not lost any value and I still have equity in my house. Thanks to real estate market being stable in my area.
