I'm surprised he didn't eat the chicken. Most dogs would chase down a chicken if they see one and actually eat it. I seen it happen many time with one of my neighbor who allowed his chicken roam free.

Cute!...On my block, some people have chickens and let them roam free...woke up one AM to find my bck yard full of chickens, eating the bread I had threw out for the birds....My Pomeranian chases them and one flew up on top of the roof (thinking it was the Rooster).
