The fall colors were all around me,
Striking red, orange, and yellow.
Leaves floated gently
Eventually succombing to a watery death.
The harsh autum wind stung my cheeks,
I was home
There...out in the open
The lake infront of me,
The piney woods behind,
A good friend at my side.
We stood by the fire
Taking in the smell of sweet smoke.
Talking of life and obsticals thrown our way,
Though always looking at positives.
A smile he constantly wears
Even when the fish dont bite.
He is like the fire,
Bright and comforting,
Filling me with warmth.
He stays strong...
Though sickness ravishes his body
He lives the life he loves.
Striking red, orange, and yellow.
Leaves floated gently
Eventually succombing to a watery death.
The harsh autum wind stung my cheeks,
I was home
There...out in the open
The lake infront of me,
The piney woods behind,
A good friend at my side.
We stood by the fire
Taking in the smell of sweet smoke.
Talking of life and obsticals thrown our way,
Though always looking at positives.
A smile he constantly wears
Even when the fish dont bite.
He is like the fire,
Bright and comforting,
Filling me with warmth.
He stays strong...
Though sickness ravishes his body
He lives the life he loves.
