3 Men Drive Through 48 States In 106 Hours

The flight from Houston to San Francisco is a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful one. I'd recommend it for anyone (if it's not cloudy, of course). I could not peel myself away from the window.

I once drove from Oklahoma to Washington DC and back from Washington DC to Oklahoma, it sucked, I will never do it again, I'm flying from now on even it makes me sick like hell from long flights

I think it's cool for these 3 men to do this. As crazy as it sounds, it is definitely an adventure that they won't ever forget. Sure, it can be tiring and exhausting to do it but hey, it's all worth it. There's more to seeing than it is to fly.

If I were to do it, I would give it a shot. It's once in a lifetime thing.

Quite amazing they did it.

Perhaps we could do that trip... visit all 48 states for a 1 week than 106 hours. :giggle:

Now that's not a bad idea. I'm up for it. :D Although it's not going to be 106 hours. It's gonna be longer than that cuz we gotta have some 'down' time to do some sight seeing, etc. :thumb: Are you game? :giggle:

thats crazier than I did 16 years ago...

1992...I drove my 1987 Escort 4 door all the way from TN to CA in like what 4 days including a 24 hour non-stop drive from Oklahoma to LA.

Fast forward to 2000 the day after the Rams won the SuperBowl. I did a 16 hour roundtrip in a 1995 Neon, with a broken speedometer, from Knoxville to St Louis and back. My feet were so tired by the minute I got home..ouch.

Nowadays the price of gas is making me go like whoooa. I can remember for the whole California drive I paid only $100 for the gas. IF I did that now Id be looking at a $400 gas bill just for a 2001 Escort :barf:

Maybe we can beat the 106 hours record coz you are the lead foot driver... JK

Yeah I will be game for sure and ofc it is gonna be longer than that as to have more time to look around places etc. :giggle:

I wouldn't really be that hard. All they have to do is plan it so that they cut corners. ;)

For instance, you can touch New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio in less than 1 hour.

Even better, you can touch Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona all at the same time!

I've drove between S.F and Houston Tx many times and usually takes me 2 days. I usually stop halfway, in Las Crudes N.M or small town in Texas. The reason I did this is cuz my dad lives in Tx. When I moved back to Ca, I drove to SF in 1995, then about 3 or 4 more round trips on the road between this and that. Mostly takes me 2 to 2.5 days.

I've drove from SF to Michigan, and Ohio a couple of times on my truck last I drove was 2005 and takes me 2.5 days. I stopped in Wyoming for motel to have a good sleep. I cruised at 65mph on the highway and I've made a 28... yes 28 MPG on my Ford Explorer, thanks to the tailwind and flat road in Nebraska and Iowa highway and got 530 miles in one tank (about 1/4 left) :) Good memories.

Would I do it again, sure the road trips are my adventure. But the gas price skyrocketing makes me think back and save on money but same time as right now it costs more to drive cross country than flying over there. It used to be cheaper to drive, but nope not anymore :(

"Are we out of Montana yet?"

"Are we out of Montana yet?"

"Are we out of Montana yet?"

6 words I do not ever want to hear again! (Sorry Chase. Montana is beautiful but too long to drive through.)

I drove 16 hours to NY from the farm in TN with my beagle. Should've taken Mom's two beagles too! Someone abducted one of them. Cried for a week.

I HATE the drive from Miami to Atlanta!!!! Never again. Boring!!

Now I fly more than I drive even if it means paying more pennies. Just makes my life much easier.

I've driven 25 hours between Rochester, NY and Dallas, TX a few times. I usually take a 30-minute nap a couple times along the way. :)

I did Columbus, Ohio to Seattle, Washington a couple of times....

The worse part of the drive is going through mid-Montana through the Dakotas....

Yeah the worst part of the I-80 from SF to Michigan is the heavy mountain in Utah (after SLC) and Wyoming with a long uphill roads. The truckers are very slow on that route ofc. But I handled it fine :)

my worst part to drive throught was on KS.. from oklma to west of colorado..
borest drove i ever had.. hehe of course that area is a whole flat.

48 states in 4 days..wow! They must have been doing 200 mph!

That's a good tips there for a short time trip for those states. Vampy :)
