Hello everybody! My name is John. I grew up in Los Angeles and my neighborhood is predominately hispanic. Even though my family spoke Spanish, I could never catch what was being thrown across the room. I tried speaking other languages like French, Korean, and Arabic, but I can’t seem to catch up.
I saw these deaf people in conversation and I thought, “why not?” I started with the ASL alphabet, and in just minutes, I understood the whole thing. I stepped it up a notch with apps and other websites and I’m retaining the information pretty good. However, I won’t fully know a language without conversation and daily practice. I’m hoping to find that here.
I’m excited to know more of this culture. So if anybody is willing to give me a sign name and a Skype account, we could get this show on the road xD
