I figured out my "problem" I look at faces. I need to look at hands closer. I have a finger spell app and that's hands only and I do well with that.

I'm so frustrated at trying to read FS, on my DVD (signing naturally) I'm on the "where do you live" section and they spell so fast! Also in class I get maybe 25% of what my fellow students sign for their stories. Hand signs, no problem. Is there a way to boost my fingerspelling reading...

Hi Helene, one of the older people in my college class. ASL 1, 4 lessons in.

I learned I need to practice my finger spelling a lot before Tuesday's 3rd ever sign class.

I went to my first Deaf Chat and I love the upbeat nature of all the people there. Out of 10 there was one deaf woman and a hard of hearing girl. I'm still pretty lost with the finger spelling but I'll get there. Honestly? I absolutely love it!

Today I learned 30 new words and then everything for I to you and them.

I decide to stay a leftie and it was a pretty good day today!

I had the crazy thought to learn right handed in class and then teach myself to do it left handed as well.

Week 3 we don't use voice, we don't see the interpeters, they are sitting with their backs to us. I assume by week 3 they'll be gone.
