How to communicate in an emergency?

Hi all, I was talking to my dad about concerns related to hearing loss and he said this: "Security concerns, for example not being able to hear if someone is in the house when I’m alone. Not seeing a car coming up behind me in parking lot. Communicating with an ambulance attendant or fireman...

    ponder about Hearing people

well of course it's upsetting to see someone you care about suddenly lose their hearing and watch them have to go through the stage of adapting and transitioning. Have been very depressed /:

How you feel is totally understandable, that may seem weird coming from me as I may not have hearing loss but I've seen family members struggle and deal. Remember that life does not throw anything to you that you cannot handle. :)

Hi, yes I'm looking at people who have become deafened or experienced hearing loss as adults/young adults. I understand it's quite a different experience than those who have been born Deaf.

Hmm, do you know if there is a majority group here? Are there a lot of Americans? I'm wondering if I should broaden my data collection to include the United States.

Calling all deafened and hard of hearing Canadians!

Hi all, I'm writing my thesis project on Canadian deafened and hard of hearing adults. My objective is to gain an understanding of the challenges faced by adult hearing loss, and hone in on those which can be met with a potential design solution. As an individual with a deafened family...

I took the news quite badly - I had been getting over my performance anxiety and practicing a song I had wanted him to hear. It has been a...
