    Deaf Education Major

Hey, everyone I'm a Deaf education Major at Ball State in Indiana I am on this website to learn more about Deaf culture and what not. I really enjoy the topics discussed on this website! Side question does anyone know if the magnet (the internal one) in the cochlear implant can be removed?

    Deaf Teacher in Schools

Honestly it is better to have a Deaf asl teacher. My first ASL teacher was haring but had two deaf sons. My teacher now is Deaf and she's great, I'm learning a lot more on Deaf culture, a very important aspect of ASL. On a side note, try and make your questions more clear next time.

    Coverage for hearing aids sought

I feel that hearing aids should be paid for by insurance companies, or companies such as medicaid or medicare. If the Cochlear Implant, which costs about 50-60 thousand dollars, can be paid for in full by these companies. Yet they can not seem to dish out a few thousand a mere percentage of...

Cel Phones hurts the Deaf Culture

I can some what agree with what you're saying. Being no true written form of ASL It is difficult to portray the language on a pager. But they are a key factor to the Deaf culture now, as the TTY was before, is now becoming absolete. I personally work at a Deaf school and have found that...
