I wondering about routers. I want to buy linksys router 802.11N.
Linksys.com - Products/Wireless/Basic Networking/Broadband Routers/Wireless-N (802.11n)/WRT300N

I am hoping it will work with VP-200.

When i bought my own router and it does not work with vp-100. I was upset and have to sell it. I have to get router for vp-100.

I do not want to buy two routers. So I wait for new router that looks much better than G and MOMO.

One thing that i am concerned about changing to new vp-200 and hopefully that vp-200 will work all routers.

Let me know if you knew about it. I don't want to waste my time.

Stick with D-LINK routers for VP!!!

Not all Linksys router would work with VP, especially with new version because Linksys was sold to Cisco, and Cisco thinks that H.323 protocol is not needed so delete them from their device. H.323 is critical for effeciency of VP, without that protocol VP wont work right.

New d-link router with 802.11 N??? will work with vp-200 are not made from dlink anymore.

How about this one router?
D-Link DIR-635 RangeBooster N 650 Router

I do know new routers wont work with vp-100 made from dlink.

Back, and the answer to this question. Yes it WILL work with VP, reason? It does support H.323 protocol which is critical to VP, plus it has port forwarding and DMZ so I believe it should work just fine as long as they are set up correctly.

Are you vp installer??

New dlink does not work with vp-100. I already tried that.

Are you sure about this???

Do you have vp-200??

There are few possible reasons why it would not work. most likely has to do with configuration. Can you tell me what is the problem?

No, I am not installer, but I know alot about VP and networking. I have done alot of tricks and experiment.
And no, I wasn't even hurry for vp-200.

Ah, I knew it. I have no problem with vp-100. I am talking about new routers like MOMO and 802.11 N. Those are high technology now. I am hoping it will work with vp-200.

I will try with new one 802.11 N dlink on vp-100. I am sure that vp installers going to change vp-100 to vp-200.. I don't think they will change router too.

Anyone who have vp-200?? Change router or no change?

You can PM me to discuss even more. From my understand, that vp-200 was intended to solve alot problems that most VP-100 users have experienced, especially with routers. I am not yet sure if they have solved the real problem, however I did caught one bug in there and Sorenson tech support refused to believe this. This support technican thinks ALL internet connection were DHCP, they were dead wrong! Some people got static IP address, unfortunately VP-200 was set automatically to DHCP mode, rather stick to static IP. I am sure it is UNLIKELY would apply to you anyway.

all you have to is.. set correct on DMz.

It work fine with my friend's video phone and his wireless linksys router for his laptop amd her wife's laptop. They prefer wireless stuff.

Yup, and there is few other things needed to be done depending on how he set it up. I already checked out this particular router, and it does have DMZ and H.323 protocol supported. Linksys don't have both at all!

you follow dhb? explain more what you say "New dlink does not work with vp-100"

black picture or no inbound calls?

many many linksys routers dont and will not work well with any viedofones

you mean wan static ip. ok, you set router with wan static ip.
use dhcp on vp200 at first then change to static ip at 125.

static ip on vp is usual 192.168.0.125

Due to lack of technical details, I find it hard to figure out. Hate when this happens and there is no way I can figure out the problem. I know couple requirements for VP to work properly, and that specific router meets all the requirement. Often times they were not set up properly. This person might use wrong bridge, due to the fact of newer wireless protocol, or not properly set up DMZ and other configuration.

huh? dont beleive you. dhb says dlink router, me say the same

I prefer Linksys. Too many problelms with D-link. I have vp-100 and use Linksys BEFSX41 which should work with VP-200 as well. I would stay away from anything wireless due to the high bandwidth requirements for streaming video not to mention security issues.

Hmmm... I have seen you mention the H323 protocol several times now. Maybe I am missing something but isn't that suite of protocols encapsulated in the TCP/UDP packet? Again, maybe I am missing something but I don't believe there is specific support for that protocol on intermediate devices like routers. That suite of protocols operates at higher layers (in the OSI model) than routers do. I don't think the router really cares what the packet is encapsulated with unless it has firewall capabilities and is performing stateful packet inspection. Even then, you would still be able to allow the packets through but you may have to increase the MTU size. Please shed some light on this for me.

That is not what I'm talking about. I am talking about which router will work with vp-200. I have vp-100 and I plan to buy new router. I hate my own router and i am forced to have it for vp-100. I already tested with new routers does not work with vp-100. Dlink routers will work with vp-200 that i got email from vp installer. So I can buy dlink router DIR 635 with 802.11 N.

What kind of linksys wireless do you have? Mine does not work. How it can be possible? Is it vp-100 or other videophone?? is that vp-200? that you said your friend's video phone works.

Yes, old linksys router does work with vp-100. When I got new linksys router and it does not work. I took it back and exchange to dlink router DI-624 wireless. Problem that my computer send movies to extender media player. It had weak and will not get clear picture. MUST have fast speed and really good connections. So I did get wireless MOMO and still not work with vp-100. It works great with extender media player. So i get it back DI-624 router again and it works great with vp-100, but not on extender media player. Damn it! Hopefully vp-200 will work with router MOMO or 802.11 N. I prayed for this. VP installer said try to get DLINK router, not other routers like linksys, netgear, etc.

So want me to test with that with vp-100 with new Dlink 802.11 N DIR 635, and if it works great both vp-100 and extender media player. So I can be more happy to have both work!!

VP-100 is same design as D-link. It will work with dlink. I already test several dlink routers and some does not work.

Old routers does work with vp-100.

You don't believe me.. Then you go ahead to buy router and test it. Return it and exchange for other.

Reason that I want to have one router will work with vp-100 and extender media player. Unfortunely that my router only work with vp-100, not extender media player. I don't know if you guys know what is extender media player. I am hoping vp-200 should have better update with new routers might work better this time. I believe it should be.

you spelled it wrong. I think you are talking about DMZ. I do know about it. I have no problem with vp-100.. just one small problem is extender media player.
