What would you do? If you lost everything...
and have nobody in family to help you.

Would you live on the street and eat out of garbage cans?
Would you do crimes on purpose to go live in prison?
Would you join the mafia, gang, or something?
Would you go near shelters and seek help?
Would you be a prostitute or stripper?
Would you rob the bank, pick pocket, or mug someone?
Would you beg for money?

What would you do?

I would probably go near shelter and ask for help and beg some money.
Would you?

If I had become homeless, I would find a job to get myself and my children off the street...

Agreed with you, Angel. I would do same thing...find someone to watch kids while go job hunting and get back on feet.

Sure, most employer will ask you for address, what are your going to respond?
I went though in the past, finding job is the least the priority! Number one priority is to get touch with department of human service or welfare to see if they can refer me to HUD and apply. The waiting list can be anywhere form few weeks to 5 years. Depending on demands for these HUD apartments. Learn of all emergency shelters, what are their rules, etc. After that (Getting permenant apartment) is done, then that is when I can start looking for job.
being homeless NOT as easy as you might think.

I will move in Oregon or California into the "no-where" forests with red woods and make a life out of it. At first I will go to San Fransisico and pick up all the coins that the people threw in the foundation water for the good lucks. If I had enough money to buy AX, a plastic shelter, and wool clothes and then I am good to go.

If it is too much for me and I would sell $1 dollar ABC to anyone that would buy. After making those money and things get bigger like upgrading selling to something like making crafts and then things get bigger until I am able to rent the apartment for a month and then get the job and then the things goes on.

If things cannot work and then I would have to buy a car and gun and move to Mexico and become a cop. Money comes from the coins around in the San Fransisico streets. You will find more than $300 dollar worth of coins around the SF street in a day.

There are many ways to get out of homeless life cycle. But many people are too lazy to do it or they don't want to.

Hahaha, I like your idea! Your right, there are many ways to get outta of homeless. Some people just wanted to stay homeless, and I am not one of them so I got out of homeless business so fast! I was fortune to have survival skills and had pu truck. The first thing I did after losing my place was to buy a tent. Moved up to Rochester, NY and slept in church backyard. Then use church bathroom to clean myself. That way, I don't get smelly. I did everything I could and found HUD subsized apartment in just 2 months. Not bad for 3 months adventure! I moved in just a day before the first frost! hehehe

Pick up money from the foundation or well will give you bad luck I was told!

One of my online deaf friends is homeless and living in a tent for three months in NY at the moment!! Sad.

Miss P, I would love to ask her questions how she manage to live in a tent but I don't want to upset her!

I have family and friends, they wouldn't mind me using their address until I get back on my feet and a place to live....

Would have done what DieHardBiker just said up there. But right now, I have my friends that'll support me and a few of my family is still around. I would do the same for my friends if they need help. the last thing I wouldn't want to live on the street.. there are other options.

It is AGAINST the law to take coins out of the foundations!

Besides...... what are you gonna buy with hundred of pennies?

Tamara,

Are you talking about Denise K? She lived in a tent for two summers on Martha's Vineyard.

Honestly I never heard like that before.

I gonna buy AX, Plastic Shelter, Wool clothes and water. It will be enough for like $200 to $300.

Homeless

Hmm, there are many, many different reasons people become "homeless". I doubt if two stories are ever the same.

I don't think any of us should take it upon ourselves to look down on a homeless person. They have their story to tell. Listen to it.

The Deaf are not usually homeless because they can always receive SSI, or whatever. It is not that easy for hearing persons. Hearing people sometimes try to invent a disability for themselves so that they can receive benefits. That is a shame, but often they get by with it.

As long as there are "free handouts" there will be people out there figuring out a way to get them.

Huh? I never live in a tent... I never was homeless.

If I have to live in a tent, then fine, no problem.

If your speaking on my behalf, this is MAJOR MISUNDERSTAND. Yes, I lived in tent for three months and that was 15 years ago! Right now, I OWN my house, own HUGE backyard and I could sleep in tent back there if I want to. I now have good job, and finally have my own family including puppy!

Would you live on the street and eat out of garbage cans? Garbage can? :barf: A friend of mine did eat off from left over food in busboy bucket but not garbage can. I replied with big groan! Oh NO WAY! He said he got no choice and was damn hungry.
Would you do crimes on purpose to go live in prison? Prefer federal crimes cause Federal prison is much better than state prison! No kidding, I know though good friend of mine who was busted for stealing SS checks though post office and ended up in fed prison. He did went to state once for one of cute crime. He noticed BIG difference between state and fed.
Would you join the mafia, gang, or something? nope, are you nuts?
Would you go near shelters and seek help? yea
Would you be a prostitute or stripper? nope
Would you rob the bank, pick pocket, or mug someone? Fantasy, yes but reality nope. I don't mind join Daniel Ocean!
Would you beg for money? sure

What would you do? I already answered this question
