Im beat.

Well, back to the drawing board...
Son's temps kept hitting 104 even after the hospital visit saying it was gas ( and they did lab work) well, he was rocking 105 and now it was staying there so back at the GOOD hospital this time and he is admitted, He has Pneumonia !
Cant believe the other hospital (which we dont like anyways, just that it was closer at the time) didnt catch it??? He has lost 3 pounds from constant sweating and a bit dehydrated but he is doing better now but got to get fluids in him now... possible will be here all week with him since mom has to work, fun for me lol.

Oh, my! I hope he gets better soon. It's been a rough week for him (and you).

Sorry to hear! Hopefully he'll recover quickly now they know what it is.

It is amazing how doctors today are. Too quick to assume gas or something else instead of making sure it couldn't be something else before thinking it's gas.

Yep, none of us have gotten more than a few hours sleep every night, tonight should be better, sleeping t the hospital... mom will probly get woke every 4 hours when they check his vitals...

Yeah, we were not happy with them at all, they were rough with him and the bad experiences makes him scared to see the Docs.
We only went there because it was close and he was in extreme pains and we thought it was his appendix a the time.

My granddaughter is still on meds but was able to go back to school after missing a week . Same here I hope his son get better fast too. It's hard seeing a child sick for so long . :(

Yes its hard on them. He has missed a week already, and now another week per the docs info... He is going to have a ton of homework to catch up on.

:( That will be tough trying to catch up on his homework, my granddaughter had a book report dues but she was too sick to finish reading her book so her mom read it to her. When does Thanksgiving vacation start for your son, kids have a half day on Wednesday here .
I hope his fever has gone down by now , that was pretty high .
The poor guy he had tough week.

Hey Mike, how is the little guy doing now? Are you home or still in the hospital? My son had double Pneumonia when he was around 1&1/2. I slept sitting up with him lying on my chest for weeks. I wore myself out and got Mono after that. Bad time of year to be sick. Hope your son is doing well, make sure you rest up and take care of yourself too.

Alex is doing ok so far, he doesnt like the IV in his arm as he says it hurts, We are still in the hospital. The doc came in earlier and said if he can get a liter of water down by noon, take his meds, they wll take the IV out and possibly go home today. So, hoping for the best and Im pushing water at him. He has been drinking but not enough for them to say ok, so Im having him sip when he changes crayons while coloring and extra big sips between.... so far so good. So we got about 3-1/2 hours to meet their demands to be released. His side pain is gone since he woke this morning and not coughing nearly as much. I got a good nights sleep for once and momma is at work which is super close... waitin on breakfast now

Hope all continues to go well, good luck to Alex on his recovery.

Mike have they given you a definite diagnosis because treating symptoms without blood cultures seem strange

I guess you can't add anything to his water to make it taste better , the poor guy . I have agree with him that having an IV does hurt . :( I hope Alex will be better by Thanksgiving . That good you got some sleep you don't want to get run down and get sick too.

Yes, they did that here so they would know what type he has ( contagious or not ) which he isnt so if there is another child that tests the same they can share a room.

This is great news ! I bet he will happy to sleep in own bed again.

Will he be staying home the rest of the week , Thanksgiving vacation start in a couple of days .

Yes, staying with me. Mom will also be staying after work since she is working the holiday for extra income and my parents live really close to her work. So we will be celebrating the holidays here together.
