Court of public opinion looms large in George Zimmerman murder trial

My take on this?....Seems they just want to be in the News.....but if he did indeed threaten his wife with a gun, he needs to be locked up and undergo some professional counseling...guessing the trial and all has put Z and his wife to the breaking point...sorry to hear about them getting a divorce. So maybe the gun threat will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Very stressful situation.

Seems like a lot of people want Zimmerman to be guilty of something :dunno:

So, he is getting a divorce .... oh well, I guess that makes him violent. I guess his wife, who admitted she lied under oath, would never dare try to get the upper hand in their divorce by making a false accusation that the public would readily eat up.

No, not in a million billion years ...

Well, Zimmerman is responsible for his behavior - he shouldn't deal with his wife if it is problematic.

I have no sympathy for domestic violence.

I do not understand why the wife called 911 if she was not going to press charges against him. Zimmerman could got after her again and the next time he could really shot her. I am not going to waste time feeling sorry for these two losers ! You can have them !

RR could get Joe Arpaio to fix two Zimmerman's behavior problem and use excellent Arizonan style punishment.

it's common when it comes to domestic violence. it's a true fear. women just want the beating to stop but not get them arrested because they fear that it will just get worse but they don't really realize that it's already worse than it is and they're lucky enough to be alive this far.

I'm glad that Florida has a strict domestic violence law that in any case of domestic violence, somebody's gonna get arrested even if a victim doesn't want to press charge.

from your link -

it doesn't matter in Florida if a victim doesn't want to file a charge or not because in the state of Florida - the state will be victim and the police will automatically arrest and charge an aggressor with domestic violence. it will be up to prosecutor to proceed ahead or not depending on evidence.

Florida has one of the strictest domestic violence law in America and thanks god for it! you know the best part? Domestic Violence charge will never ever be expunged or sealed from your record.... and that also means Zimmerman will lose his Constitutional rights to Amendment 2 :thumb:

No being a police officer for him like he aspired to be! :giggle:

Yes, the domestic violence laws here are super strict... I like it though... our DUI laws are just as intense! =P

A gun was never used, he was released with no charges pressed.

Sounds like a woman wanting the legal advantage in a divorce

((yawn))

wondering what's next... it's just escalating now

Anything to get our attention off Syria... lol!

or North Korea.

Dennis Rodman found best friend. Who? Kim Jong Un.

I want Dennis Rodman to take me to North Korea so I will have privilege to drive on street of Pyongyang and get awesome iMac with unrestricted internet.

It seems like some people are wanting it both ways. They use the "lied under oath" by Mrs. Z. as a pretext that anything she says cannot be trusted but slobber and salivate all over the news of Mrs. Z reporting to police of a gun being involved and that she was threatened, etc, etc.

Deputy Police Chief Colin Morgan said officers did not recover a gun, and Bracknell said Shellie Zimmerman later dropped her claim that a gun was involved.

“Domestic violence can’t be invoked because she has changed her story and says she didn’t see a firearm,” Bracknell said.

The dispute “was between him and his wife and her father,” Morgan said. “There were some allegations that there had been an assault, but we could not confirm any of it.”
Police: Zimmerman wife not pressing charges

This has the making of an anti-gun narrative in the news.

But, but...there was a gun involved! *pant* *pant*

“Nobody saw a gun,” said Officer Zach Hudson. “We did not find a gun on his body. We did not find a gun in the house. As of right now, there is no gun.”
According to the latest news this morning.....

O'Mara also said that George Zimmerman didn't threaten Shellie Zimmerman or her father with a gun, even though Shellie Zimmerman told 911 dispatchers he did. O'Mara said George did have his gun, but that it was holstered under his shirt and stayed there the whole time.

"Look, I think everybody got a little bit out of hand," O'Mara said. "There may have been some pushing and touching. That happens a lot in divorce situations. Silly stuff like pots and pans and dishes get so emotionalized that it overflows."

O'Mara says that George Zimmerman never punched his father-in-law, despite what Shellie Zimmerman said in her 911 call.

"I don’t know what he’s capable of," Shellie Zimmerman told dispatchers, while sobbing. "I’m really scared."

"Nobody saw a gun," said Officer Zach Hudson. "We did not find a gun on his body. We did not find a gun in the house. As of right now, there is no gun."

In the 911 call, Shellie Zimmerman tells her dad to "get behind the car or something -- I don't know if he's going to start shooting at us or something." She also said her father said he "feels like he's going to have a heart attack."

From the looks of it, she she lied about the situation claiming G.Z. had a gun and was threatening them with it. She ought to be the one that need to be arrested for making false 911 calls.

It's very different when a call comes like this,

"George is over here threatening my father and me with a gun!"

Which puts police in high alert and actually puts G.Z. in greater danger of getting shot by the police for any misinterpreted moves. They come in force, guns drawn, not knowing if they'll have to deal with a hostage situation.

Shellie Zimmerman has already confessed to lying about this. Charges ought to be filed against her.

Now, what it'll be? You going to use this incident going on by what S.Z. said, which was a lie (and has a documented history of lying)? Gonna pant and slobber all over this anti-gun narrative in the news?

G.Z. was caught speeding...twice! And pulled over! *pant* *pant*....he's a bad man! *pant* *pant* Carries a gun!!! Putting people lives in danger while speeeeeeding recklessly !!! *pant* *pant*

*scans news for more dirt*.............

Sorry, but that's a big fail on my part. Resume your normal lives now.

No, I trying to show that guy has a violent temper and is not the Mr. Nice Guy a lot of people think he is. . Boy you are in denial , like it not the guy did punch his father in law in his nose and threaten to shot his father in law and wife . And you still think Zimmerman is not violent . Did you stop to think this could be way they're getting a divorce , it sound like they both have a temper and Zimmerman could say he shot his wife in self defense and hope to get away with it.

I don't think anyone here thought Zimmerman was a nice guy.

I know all that , you had told me nothing new. But the way I see it if she had reported Zimmerman it would had given her time to get some money and move out of state to a safe place before it too late to do anything. Abused women that work with centers for abused women try to make their move when they know the abuser is going to be gone for awhile. The wife just miss a great chance in escaping from Zimmerman. If a woman go to a group for abuse women and she see a woman from her group on the street with a man or even alone they are not to made any eye contact or say a word to one another . The guy is going to want to know who that woman
was and how they know one another and it could cost the woman a beaten when they get home. I went to college to work as case worker for abused women but I became very ill and was not able to go back to collage.
I became a health aide instead reported any abused happening my clients. I hates abusers , they're cowards.
