Exactly. And it has to happen over a time span. Along with some other criteria that need to be met. Multiple murder does not equate to serial murder.

Right, something like a school shooting doesn't make you a serial killer. Just a mass murderer.

An example of a serial killer that suffers from a delusion would be the visionary who believes that God is telling him to kill. Or someone who believes that they are bound to seek out justice for a past wrong.

It is very difficult to classify based on one criteria. That is why they have comorbid dx.

Had Brenda Spencer killed more one more person, she'd be considered a mass murderer. She is not a serial murderer.
