Yeah, I know I heard that. --->'MotoRex and the North American Skyline Fiasco" - the Skyline GT-R wiki

*search ebay website for 1993-1999 Nissan skylines*.. wow, no sales. Well, they might switch to legal 2008-present Nissan skylines now. ugh, too pricey around $125,000

anyone that says they are selling road legal, tagable cars is lying. Im on a number of forums including a nissan forum with a skyline sub-forum and countless members have stated that they have had their cars taken by the gov't....R32,R33, and R34 skylines. The only one of the 3 that was ever legal was the R33 as it went through the crash testing but still failed to meet emissions requirements. All 3 of the above are illegal in the U.S. If you dont believe me google US government seizing skylines

And R35's are not $125k

2012 models start at 89k, and earlier years can be found for around 50k used. The R35 is practically a supercar and can hold its own with a number of supercars (lamborghini, ferrari, etc). Even for $125k thats a bargain considering it competes with cars costing 300k +

I googled it, real sick to me. I support the imported Skylines here for collection or show/autocross something like that. I know they have emission problems in California.

The US version of the Skyline kinda sucks because the launch mode of the transmission is not that reliable. If you use it a lot, you blow it up and pay $25,000 for a new transmission. I'm not joking you. Nissan sucks, they used to be great but not anymore.

The new GTR isnt a Skyline ppl, the true skylines died with the R34 (R34 and earlyer was built to be modified but sadly those days are over)

The R35 GTR IS NOT A SKYLINE. And the owners manual for the car states NOT to use launch mode. Also there is a company that I think that is in Australia that sells a high quality that replaces the faulty pieces in the transmission that tend to let go after using launch mode a bunch and pretty much gets rid of that problem. The kit is like $15k but thats still cheaper than buying a new one from Nissan. And Nissan sucks? LOL, Nissan has built a world beater with the R35...to say Nissan sucks is the polar opposite of the truth.

For anyone that thanks the R35 isnt a beast, this is a highly modified GTR walking on a Veyron. The second run is EPIC

That right there. The R34 was the last true skyline, the syline 350gt (infiniti G35) is not and never will be considered a real skyline.

High speed on wet road...whooa. I saw twin turbos in a 2010 Nissan GT-R (not Skyline) with a 3.8L V6 that came in for a smog check last year.

hey sequoias, I think I've reading the Nissan forum about the tranny. Yep its $25K tranny.

The motor is a VR38DETT(twin turbo), turbo's are factory

Sounds right to me, I can't recall but I think I wrote my notebook for logging smog inspection reports. Real handsome the engine. Other Nissan V6 like 3.5L that I know the engine code is VG35DE.

I think the new GTR is ok but it just doesnt have the personality or the brutality im after in a car like the R34

Awesome R__GT-Rs on 5 lap race. Pure race breed. What's wrong with a R35GT-R with semi auto tranny, can't pace up to the leader. I thought paddle shifter is better than manual stick.... R34 GT-R w/ a manual tranny is 1st place.

Simply put..

Why is R34 beating R35?

Because Godzilla

GTR and Skyline are not same.

Skyline never had DSG and V6 at all.

The DSG is at rear of axle with and you can switch from 4WD to 2WD. That's why it is so expensive. It is not just transmission as itself.

Yes, I heard about that and no warranty about idiot dude who dont read user manager from GTR and You should not keeps drive with sport mode from DSG for all days. Sport mode *or whatever it called* design for tracking racing in short time, not street or DSG got overheat.

My wife have DSG on her VW and I tried sport mode and rpm went high like crazy like 50mph at 2nd gear or 3rd gear without touch car gas pedal and it was quick acceleration which perfect for tracking.

Yes, DSG is quick than manual but R34's I6 is better than R35GT-R's V6. Most V type of engines are suck.

The straight six engine design also provides great torque and responce, plus remember the RB26 was designed when nissan was spending billions on motorsport
