WWIII has begin?

No, it is not. Watch the video again. The assailant ran over a cop. The cops did not run over civilians. They attacked the assailant and THAT was police brutality.

I think you may have trouble discerning warfare and soldiers from LEO.

pay attention. follow me.

1. cops chased after a violent, reckless criminal. criminal crashed and burned. cops beat up unconscious criminal. that is a police brutality to you.

2. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. USA responded by dropping 2 atomic bombs that resulted in hundreds of thousands civilian lives. that is OK to you.

by agreeing that it's ok to drop 2 atomic bombs that will kill hundreds of thousands civilian lives in the name of peace... that means it is ok for cops to run over civilians to apprehend a violent criminal in the name of peace too.

just like this -

Like I said in my post, I think you are having problems discerning warfare and soldiers from LEO.

I never said it was "ok" to drop atomic bombs. It wasn't "ok" to attack a nation by surprise either.

Quick to blame America, but not the nation that dragged us into the war I see ... hmmm.

btw, we won the war because of the bombs.

we would've won war without the bombs...hence the Russia factor

in other word - yes?

I will never have to make that decision so it is irrelevant.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed. It stopped the war and Japan surrendered.

After Japan's unconditional surrender, no more bombs were dropped.

:ty: for proving my point. :)

It's ok to criticize our government and a very difficult decision that our President made. Doing so does not tarnish or disrespect your grandfather who died at Pearl Harbor because your grandfather perhaps may not like what you say but he would still fight for your right to say it. Criticizing the President's decision does not make you any less patriotic.

God bless America.

In addition, Japan would never have had Hiroshima or Nagasaki bombed if they had never attacked the United States.

Japan was promised portions of our territory as "spoils of war" if they attacked.

The United States never divided Japan into territories or ever claimed "ownership".

We could have ...

Jiro, in all honesty, I enjoy debating you, I hope you never take anything personally.

I know criticizing the President does not make one unpatriotic. I also do not like the fact the United States bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I never feel comfortable with what is called "necessary evils" but I do know our government is very capable and willing to do dirty work.

I don't feel bad for the deaths of the many Americans during the War (most of the time), I feel bad for the innocent civilians that were killed as a result of their oppressive governments.

edit: let me re-iterate what I mean - a U.S. soldier knows the risk they are taking. The innocent civilian in a warzone has my heart.

that's the most silliest thing I've ever heard. I can never understand your logic.

in fact - it's a contradiction to your stance in Roe v. Wade thread. I would say - "If that stupid boy kept his pants on, he would not be in paying for child custody mess."

The Civil War would never happened if the Southern states did not declare their secession

You make it seem like the only thing Japan did was attack Pearl Harbor. That was just the beginning of the war between Japan and the USA. There was a lot more bloodshed that happened between those two events.

Here is the logic in case you missed it the first time.

The United States did not want to go to war. Japan did. So they got one, and they lost.

They did everything they could do to annihilate our military, they even had an ambassador sent to the White House to completely catch us with our pants down.

And we still won.

Japan was driven by greed of dividing up the United States into different territories for themselves.

So stop blaming America and get over the fact that Japan had its ass handed to them.

Jiro, do you know about the rape of Nanking? The comfort women of the Philippines? The Bataan Death March?

Do you know how many civilians the Japanese army killed? How many they tortured and raped?

Compare the total number of civilians killed by the Japanese military with the number of Japanese civilians that were killed by the nuclear bombs.

What about the U.S. soldiers that were burned alive in internment camps?

it's called war. ugly thing happens. what do you expect? it still doesn't justify the use of nuclear weapon on civilian population. The Japanese civilians who died in atomic bombs did not participate in the rape of Nanking

perhaps I should remind you what our American soldiers did to Iraqi civilians? yes the raping and murder part.

Jiro, in all honesty, I enjoy debating you, I hope you never take anything personally.
if there's one thing you should know about me - it's me being stronger than A Great Wall of China  I never take anything personally and I simply have a very strong opinion. and perhaps a sharp tongue :)

that's why I will stand up and speak out to ensure that our government shouldn't resort to dirty work in the name of peace. Naive? perhaps but it's what we should try to strive for. Every once in a while in our history, we will have a very dark chapter.

Native Americans. Negro Segregation. Atomic Bombings. Japanese-American Internment. and now 9/11. I pray that we won't have another dark chapter but we will and I will continue to speak out against it as long as the Constitution affords me the rights to do so.

:hmm::gpost:

can we close this thread?....I'm not sure what we're debating anymore...

1. certiainly WWIII won't come of this latest skirmish between NK/SK??? agreed???

2. certainly NK won't use a nuclear bomb? agreed???

ok if anybody says "no" to either question...then keep it open for more debate. I think we're starting to run into circles.
