Deaf student teacher arrested in NY

It's scary that this teacher is surrounded daily by female students. I wonder if he thought that working at the American School for the Deaf would make it easier to target his victims. Hmm. :roll: This is too close to home.

Yeah, it's not too far from me either. I used to live in Hartford, but moved to Oakville, which is only 35 mins away. Pretty scary. I wish you can tell who are the predators. As punishment they should have "sex offender" tattoed on their foreheads (aside from jailtime).

Oh please.

Sex offender is a very and I mean very broad term used in the legal system these days. In some places, someone who is caught urinating behind a bush can be charged as a sex offender.

Besides, there are plenty of sex offenders with no criminal records out there. So it's not going to make much of a difference. The teacher who was arrested appear to have no previous criminal records... so far.

Yes, you're right about some sex offenders having no criminal records out there. Too bad sex offender is such a board term in our legal system - else Mrs. Summers would be on target. I wonder if your country's legal system is like our legal system.

As for this guy, I'm afraid this appears to be more than a case of this student-teacher being caught urinating behind a bush. Given what I read, I think things don't look very good for this guy.

It varies by the province.

Not at all. Pot and booze doesn't make it any better either.
 
I think I know that guy. He looks familiar...I will have to ask my brother if he knows him and if so, where did we know him from.

Same here, he looks familiar. so were my friends. maybe we saw him through the deaf events who knows.

Thank GOD they caught him before anything could happen. At my hearing jr high, there was a gym teacher who molested girls,(big scandal my jr year of high school coming out that two girls had realtionships with him)
 
Yeah, I agreed. That is one example, there are another example of a guy in Senior and turned 18 and had long time girlfriend who is still under 18. He got caught having sex with her as minor, bam! Sex offender registry required! He married to same woman after release from prison.

And NEVER know if a guy next door is so friendly and had no criminal record and seemly trustwothy can rape our kids! YIKE! Sad, unpredictable... :(
